Restaurant Teatro is David da Costa’s newest restaurant. This Dutchman with Indonesian roots began cooking by necessity at the age of eighteen.
After living all his life with his grandparents, David suddenly found himself alone. To support himself, he had to be creative. Since his kickboxing career didn’t earn him enough and in the restaurant industry you always get “staff food,” David started working as a kitchen helper. That’s how he gradually discovered his passion. At twenty-two, he dropped his engineering studies and invested all his savings in a chef’s training program at Spermalie in Bruges.
Driven by a hunger for more, David went to work at De Lindehof** (Nuenen), Pure-C**(Cadzand) and VANE (Eindhoven). In 2019, it was time for the next step, setting his own signature in Antwerp. In 2023, the Teatro was born. Stop by to discover Teatro!
